[July the 6th] |
Your Majesty Draco, dear, if at all possible, do you think that you could make it home for dinner this evening? Your son has been working very hard at something all day, and he won't tell me what it is, but says that he wants to show you.

I got put on yet another committee at my St. Alma's board meeting this morning. It isn't that I don't enjoy them-- I do. But being on committees and planning events-- this isn't what I want to do with my free time for the rest of my life. I knew growing up that being a proper Pureblood wife would include this, would include being on display and playing the part of the perfect, proper lady. But why is it so bad that I want to do something else?
In the meantime, I'm having me time whilst Scorpius scribbles away. I can't tell if he's writing or drawing, but he's quiet and enjoying himself and that's all that matters. And it's giving me time to read a simply fascinating book.

Scorpius's half birthday party was wonderful. It was small, just a family affair with everything that's going on right now in our family that's for the best but we're going to have some of his little friends over soon for that sort of gathering. Probably next weekend.
We got him the puppy, a rescue dog of sorts from a kennel. He's a large, white and shaggy thing-- Draco says he's "part Old English Sheepdog, part promiscuous neighbor's dog". Scorpius named him Caesar, and they've quickly become the best of friends. It's rather sweet even if Draco was furious at first.
I feel like my life lately has been Scorpius, home, and my various committees. What have I been missing?

Private to Romilda/Adrian/Whichever One Picked Out Miles' Dog
I think I'm going to get Scorpius a dog after all. His half birthday is coming up, and I think it would make a good present, don't you? Do you know of any good places to look?

I simply cannot wait for the St. Mungo's gala tomorrow evening. It's going to be absolutely lovely. I've been on the committee that has been organizing the event, and let me tell you it is going to be spectacular. Tracey, dear, thank you for letting us use the Camellia for our venue.
Sadly, I shall not be attending. I have a wedding to go to, so anyone who is there needs to tell me absolutely everything that happens. It's so sad to put so much work into something and not go, but the wedding should be a lovely affair.
Romilda
Darling, I'm so sorry that we've not been able to get together lately! How are you feeling? I've been so worried about you. Are you staying with Pucey? He's taking good care of you, right?
Let me know when you feel up to doing things-- I want to go shopping, but it's no fun going alone, and we also still need to get Scorpius and Miles together!

Really, tell me my son isn't the cutest thing that you have ever seen.
( Spellotaped in )
He's been behaving better lately-- no swearing, which is an improvement. I swear he was doing it just to shock me. He's far too much like his father, I swear. He was flitting all about the garden on his new toy broom this afternoon and he nearly did a flip once. I thought my heart stopped beating for a moment.
Romilda We should get he and Miles together soon, darling. They would have a terrific time, swooping around on those brooms and scaring the shite out of us.

[March the 30th] |
I had the loveliest tea today with the other ladies on the St. Alma's board. We're planning an auction of sorts, a gala to raise them money, and it's going to be simply delightful. We welcome any sort of volunteers, so if anyone is interested do let me know!
[Private to Daphne] The parents would like our presence this Saturday evening for dinner. Do try and show up.
[Private to Draco] Scorpius's tutor informed me this afternoon when I returned that he had used a rather ugly phrase when told that he would have to do something he didn't want to. Again. That's the second time in the past week! Have you been swearing in front of him? I certainly haven't.
Although. Honestly, that man's face and the way that he sputtered about it...you're going to have to punish Scorpius, I don't think I'll be able to do it with a straight face.
[Romilda]
How old is Adrian's son, again? Do you think he would enjoy a playdate with Scorpius? I think my little darling might, erm, need a bit of a break from his studies some time in the near future.
Also, we should go shoe shopping.
